UK Rigging visit Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts
UK Rigging’s Project Manager, Ken, recently attended the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) over two days to deliver sessions as part of an Essential Production Skills Module for first year students, required as part of their BA(hons) Theatre and Performance Design and Technology courses.
The two day presentation contained practical demonstrations and PowerPoint covering a range of areas including: An introduction to Rigging Equipment; Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (Loler); Basic Terminology used in the Entertainment Industry; Counterweight Flying; Theatrical Rigging Equipment and an overview of Knot Tying.
UK Rigging and LIPA lecturer Paul Halgarth were delighted with how it went and look forward to working together in the future.
