What does a Warehouse Manager do at UK Rigging?

As Warehouse Manager at UK Rigging, you will be directly responsible for ensuring that the warehouse continues to pick, pack and load the correct hire equipment to fulfil orders for exhibitions and concerts across the UK. You will work together with the Warehouse Supervisors to lead a close-knit team of Warehouse Operatives, ensuring that everyone is working safely, efficiently, and to the best of their ability. The duties of a warehouse manager include:

  • Organising the department workload, delegating tasks and helping out as required
  • Maintaining a tidy, clean and organised warehouse
  • Leading daily team meetings, and taking part in other meetings within the company
  • Leading, coaching and developing new and existing staff
  • Organising rota cover, tracking flexible working and authorising holidays
  • Liaising with other departments to work on extra projects, both internally and externally
  • Ensuring legal compliance with all relevant law, policies and procedures

Legal Compliance

Rigging equipment is subject to inspection and maintenance requirements under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER). The warehouse also operates a gantry crane, lift trucks, loading bay and mezzanine storage area so knowledge, experience and confidence with relevant health and safety laws such as the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) are vital.

Physical Fitness

This role required a good level of physical fitness and will require lifting, pushing and pulling loads up to 30kg. The majority of the day is spent standing or moving, and conditions can be hot, cold, and sometimes requires outdoor working in all weathers.

Where and when will you be working?

Location: UK Rigging, Bolton, BL3 6BS

Hours per week: 35 hrs a week, plus optional paid overtime, and an hour-long lunch break

Schedule: Ideally 9.30am to 5.30pm, but 8.00am – 4.00pm will also be considered
