What does a CAD Assistant do?
At UK Rigging, a CAD Assistant supports the CAD Manager in the preparation and distribution of drawings and documentation for a range of venues and events in the entertainment rigging industry. Confidence with a computer is essential to this role, and previous experience of Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD are highly desirable.
The duties of a CAD assistant include:
- Accurately creating generic and overlay drawings for live events
- Updating existing drawings to reflect changes in client needs
- Using in-house systems to run roof analysis reports
- Keeping track of event deadlines and ensuring the relevant paperwork is completed in time
- Creating and maintaining a well organised digital file structure
- Monitoring, triaging and responding to client emails
- Assisting the department head with other administrative tasks

CAD Assistants have the option to train as a rigger alongside their office duties. You would learn about arena rigging through working onsite and training at various venues across the UK. Where and when will you be working?
Location: Bolton Office, and onsite if you chose to pursue rigging
Hours per week: 35 hrs a week, plus optional paid overtime
Start date: Ideally, 9th September 2024
